Logistic - Technical Sector of Tank and Amour Corps promotes the learning and following of Uncle Ho’s teachings

Over the past 60 years of building, combating, supporting and developing (22/6/1965 - 22/6/2025), generations of cadres, technicians and soldiers of the Logistic – Technical sector of the Tank - Amour  Corps (the Corps thereafter) have embedded and effectively implemented President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings, creating a great spiritual motivation to successfully accomplish all assigned functions and tasks, assuring the Corps to “Surely win once deployed”

When he was alive, President Ho Chi Minh always cared for and spent a deep affection for the Logistic – Technical branch. He once said: “Supporting is as important as fighting in the battlefield. Soldiers can win only when they are provided with enough ammunition and food”. Being thoroughly imbued with his teaching, during their way of building, combating, supporting and developing, the Logistic – Technical sector of the Tank and Armour Corps has continuously made every effort to overcome numerous difficulties to successfully accomplish the task of logistic and technical support, sufficiently and timely assisting all forces of the Corps in their training, readily combating and winning in all situations, making a crucial contribution to continuing the glorious tradition i.e. “Surely win once deployed” of the heroic Tank and Amour soldiers.

Entering the period of building and safeguarding the Fatherland, in recent years, the Corps’ Logistic – Technical sector has proactively given consultations, brought into play their leading roles in directing and guiding the implementation of logistic – technical support; their activities have been regularly maintained, and the support has been continually improved with higher quality. Especially, thoroughly grasping Uncle Ho’s teaching, i.e. “An Army marches on its stomach. Catering staff should try their best to provide enough food and weapons for soldiers”, the Department has paid attention to making synchronous solutions for reorganising and rearranging all elite and compact logistic-technical forces and agencies; building a contingent of “red and expert’ cadres and staff; actively creating sources and suitable devolutions; enhancing the management, inspection and supervision together with practicing thrift and countering waste; applying technological advances and digital transformation in doing their work. As a result, the Logistic – Technical department has successfully accomplished all tasks, gained many achievements, and been recognised and awarded by the seniors.

Given the requirements of safeguarding the Fatherland in the new situation, the task of building, training and combat readiness of the Corps has set higher demands and goals for the logistic - technical support. Meanwhile, the Corps' Logistic–Technical sector has been newly established based on the merge of the two Logistics and Technical branches, raising problems to be solved. From the reality of the task performances, the Corps has advocated continuously directing all forces, the Logistic-Technical as the core, to promote the learning and following of Uncle Ho’s teachings, considering this as an important content and motive to improve the quality and effectiveness of the logistic - technical support.

Implementing Uncle Ho’s teaching, i.e. “Only leadership can lead to success in any work”, the Corps' Party Committee and Command have led and directed all departments, units and schools to care for the logistic – technical work regarding spirit, organisation and resources. Based on the thorough grasp of resolutions and directives, focusing on Resolution No. 1656-NQ/QUTW and Resolution No. 1658-NQ/QUTW, dated 20 December 2022 by the Central Military Commission on the logistic-technical work to 2030 and the following years, 100% of party committees and commands at all levels have built their leading resolutions, plans and action programmes, and made detailed policies and solutions, which are feasible and suitable with the task requirements of each period of time. In the implementation, the Corps has attached much importance to bringing into play the core roles of the logistic – technical offices in their consulting and proposing of guidelines and solutions for leading, directing and organising the comprehensive implementation of logistic-technical support for all tasks of training, combat readiness, natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, at the same time, intensely making breakthroughs in improving the professional knowledge and competence for the contingent of the logistic-technical cadres and technicians at all levels; and completely solving any weaknesses and shortcomings in their logistic-technical support.

Thoroughly understanding Uncle Ho’s teaching, i.e. “Adjusting the organisation is to decrease the people’s contribution and increase the forces for production”, and to take part in improving the quality and effectiveness of logistic-technical support, the Corps has continued to strengthen the organisation and staff in the elite, compact and suitable way; cultivate and improve the qualities and competence for logistic-technical cadres at all levels. Implementing Decision No. 08/QĐ-TM, dated 06 January 2020 by the Chief of General Staff on the organisation and staff of Commands in peacetime, Decision No. 4363/QĐ-BQP, dated 23 September 2024 by the Defence Ministry on reorganising and merging the Department of Logistics and Department of Techniques into the Logistic-Technical Department of Tank-Corps Corps, the Corps’ Party Committee and Command have intensely led and directed the drastic implementation of inspection, arrangement, adjustment of logistic-technical cadres and technicians at all levels, assuring the suitable structures and numbers, high quality, inheritance and development, focusing on rightly planning, arranging and using the contingent of logistic-technical cadres and technicians in a “multi-tasking” way. Besides, the Corps has paid attention to building a contingent of logistic-technical cadres and technicians who have good spirit and morality, sense of discipline observance; comprehensive knowledge and professional skills; prestige, good health and suitable age, meeting the requirements of the tasks.

To well carry out this task, in the coming time, besides deploying its cadres to training courses, the Corps also hold refresher courses to improve their overall quality, especially the responsibility and working capacity for cadres at all levels, focusing on presiding cadres, office assistants and junior officers; building a contingent of non-commissioned officers who have professional knowledge, good skills and techniques, regular and scientific working style, dedication and passion for the job; arranging, using and suggesting to recruit, select and train the contingent of skillful technicians; maintaining the sustainable transition of professions among generations, meeting the task requirements in both short and long run. In addition, the Corps frequently expresses concern about the thoughts and expectations of cadres and technicians, timely and completely solves any arising problems in the process of restructuring the Logistic – Technical sector, making contribution to successfully accomplishing all assigned tasks.

Being imbued with Uncle Ho’s teaching, i.e. “Emulation is patriotic, those who are patriotic must emulate”, the Corps has directed the Logistic–Technical sector to promote the emulation movements and campaigns, particularly the Emulation movement: “The military logistics follows Uncle Ho’s teachings” and the Campaign of “Managing and exploiting weapons and technical equipment effectively, sustainably, safely, economically, and traffic safety”. To gain effectiveness, the Corps has asked the Department to comprehensively and synchronously implement all emulation contents, focusing on carrying out the breakthroughs defined in the Corps’ Party Congress (tenure 2020-2025), turning the movements to the grassroots levels, solving any weaknesses and shortcomings in the logistic-technical work; build and multiply typical models and units, and new factors; improve the effectiveness of all emulation movements in any specialised sectors such as: “Building good catering and supplies managing units”, “Building the 5-goods medical units”, “Building regular, safe and effective transport units”, etc., creating a strong motivation to make good logistic-technical support for tasks.

Together, the Corps enhances the application of technological advances and digital transformation combined with bringing into play technical initiatives to meet the requirements of supporting tasks. Recently, the Logistic-Technical Department has proactively coordinated with functional offices to standardise the process of storing, maintaining, repairing and preserving technical equipment within the entire Corps, creating the foundation for the digitalisation of the process in the future; utilise software and database to manage vehicles, machines and weapons; closely inspect the maintenance process, expiry date and spare parts of each type of vehicles. Manu units have built the digital database of their weapons and technical equipment, regularly upgraded the technical specifications of all tanks and armoured vehicles, and synchronised to the Corps. As a result, commanders at all levels could quickly search the history of maintenance and repairs of each vehicle, then give accurate and timely decisions of usage and maintenance. Concurrently, the Corps has proactively coordinated the Military Industry and Telecoms Group to digitalise all technical documents and relevant processes. These digitalised documents are then collected into the “store of digitalised documents”, allowing all offices, units, cadres and soldiers to use them through the LAN network. Also, the Corps has enhanced the education and training on digital transformation at all levels, helping cadres and technicians to firmly apprehend the working principles of specialised software, new standards and regulations of logistic – technical support. In order to timely solve all arising problems in the support process, the sector has paid attention to bringing into play the technical initiatives, encouraging all cadres and technicians to attend and build policies on the financial support for any initiatives which have high practical applications, contributing to improving the effectiveness of support within the entire Corps.

With drastic and synchronous solutions, the learning and following of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style has become an important inspiration to help the Logistic-Technical sector of Tank-Amour Corps make continuous renovations and creativity, be self-reliant and resilient in their actions, improve the combat power, making contribution to building the revolutionary, regular, highly-skilled Corps towards modernity, firmly safeguarding the Socialist Fatherland of Vietnam in all situations.
