President Ho Chi Minh is a genius leader, a hero of national liberation, a world cultural celebrity, a great teacher of our Party; a symbol of the cultural quintessence of the Vietnamese people, of the most beautiful values ​​of the Vietnamese soul, will and personality; a shining example of revolutionary morality, a beautiful image of the close relationship between the leader and the People.

After his passing, the earnest wish of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people was to preserve his body for a long time and soon build His mausoleum so that His name, image, great career and contributions would be forever engraved in the hearts and minds of all Vietnamese people. In accordance with that earnest wish, the Politburo and the Party Central Committee decided to: "Perform to the best of our ability the task of preserving President Ho's body for a long time and building His mausoleum with infinite love and eternal gratitude to Him". That sacred task and great responsibility was assigned by the Party, the State and the People to the Army, directly to Corps 69 - the predecessor of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command (Command 969) today. During 6 years from 1969 to 1975, officers and soldiers of Group 69 worked side by side with Soviet experts to overcome many harsh challenges of war and floods, silently and quietly establishing silent and secret feats, preserving and protecting the body of President Ho Chi Minh in absolute safety. 29 August 1975 - the day of the Mausoleum inauguration ceremony, the first ceremony to pay respect to Uncle Ho became the traditional day of the 969 Command.

After 50 years of construction, growth and development, generations of cadres, workers and soldiers of Command 969 have overcome all difficulties and challenges, gradually mastered technology, and excellently completed their special political tasks, which are: Preserving Uncle Ho's body in the best condition; maintaining and embellishing His Mausoleum on the historic Ba Dinh Square to make it more and more spacious and beautiful; warmly and thoughtfully welcoming compatriots and international guests to visit President Ho Chi Minh. With these outstanding achievements, Command 969 has been honoured with many noble awards from the Party, State and the Army.

Currently, our country is entering a new historical period of complicated and unpredictable developments in the world and region. Hostile and reactionary forces continue to step up sabotage in all aspects. Promoting the special political, historical and cultural values ​​of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is of utmost importance in the cause of national construction and defence, posing very high requirements for the 969 Command with several difficulties and challenges. In order to successfully complete their special political tasks assigned, the Party Committee of Corps 969 and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command continue to promote the heroic tradition, solidarity and unity, proactively overcome all difficulties, and focus on implementing the following solutions:

Firstly, promoting the role of the core force in managing and protecting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic. Thoroughly grasping and seriously implementing Ordinance No. 06/2025/UBTVQH15, dated 13 March 2025 of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly on the management and protection of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic, resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defence, the Party Committee of Corps 969 and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command have strengthened leadership and direction of agencies and units to uphold their responsibility, self-reliance, proactiveness, creativity, master the technology, and successfully complete the task of preserving and protecting the body Uncle Ho in absolute safety for long time; focusing on the major contents and orientations on medical, technical, architectural tasks, security, rituals, and combat readiness. Besides, they have further invested in facilities and medical equipment to build Institute 69 into a specialised one in the direction of formal, scientific, modern directions, meeting the requirements of the task; directed Corps 195 to improve the capacity of management, effective operation and exploitation of the existing technical equipment system of the Mausoleum; renovated the Mausoleum, the Martyrs Monument and other structures to make them increasingly spacious, clean, beautiful, and sustainable, in line with the planning of the Ba Dinh Political Centre; directed Corps 275 to improve the level of security assurance, combat readiness, command, coordination, and ensure absolute safety of the Relic and political and cultural activities held in the Mausoleum area. At the same time, it focuses on improving the level of performing State and Military ceremonies at the Mausoleum and the Martyrs Monument.

In addition, the Command continues to train and build a contingent of cadres, especially medical and technical staff, with comprehensive knowledge, high professional qualifications and practical capacity, capable of inheriting, receiving and mastering their political tasks in the new period. Seek advice from domestic and foreign scientists, especially the State Science Council, to improve the quality and effectiveness of research and application of scientific achievements into task performance, resolving difficulties and obstacles to preserve Uncle Ho's body for a long time. Regularly pay attention to and maintain the good traditional relationship between the unit and the Moscow Biomedical Research Centre of Russia.

Secondly, maintaining and promoting the political significance, historical and cultural values ​​of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Relic. To effectively implement this goal, the Command directs its agencies and units to closely coordinate with functional forces and localities to maintain absolute security and safety in the area of the Mausoleum and Ba Dinh Square; hold thoughtful reception of compatriots and international guests coming to visit Uncle Ho, commemorate heroic martyrs, and participate in political and cultural activities in the Mausoleum and K9 Relic Site. Continue to effectively implement the Project "Innovating and improving the effectiveness of propaganda work on the political and cultural significance of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in the period of 2021 - 2025 and the following years". Actively coordinate with news agencies to promote propaganda and education to enhance the effectiveness of spreading the values of the Ho Chi Minh Relic and Heritages, especially on the occasion of anniversaries and important events of the Party, State and Army; refute malicious and distorted information about the history, life and career of the great President Ho Chi Minh. In particular, the Command requires that every action and word of officers and soldiers be imbued with the style, morality and ideology of Uncle Ho. This is to practically contribute, with the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army, to well implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW, dated 18 May 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW, dated 15 May 2016 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. In these historical days, the Command will strengthen coordination to well perform the task of receiving and serving compatriots and international guests coming to visit Uncle Ho and commemorate the heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (19 August 1945 - 19 August 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (02 September 1945 - 02 September 2025).

Thirdly, building an all-strong, "exemplary, typical" unit to meet the requirements of immediate and long-term tasks. Given the recent restructuring of the Command, the task of preserving and protecting the absolute safety ofPresident Ho Chi Minh’s body has posed higher requirements. In order to successfully complete its special political task, the Party Committee of Corps 969 and the Command of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the policy of streamlining, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of operations in a serious manner. Moreover, its strengthens political and ideological education to develop a contingent of cadres, party members, workers and soldiers with strong political will, high sense of responsibility, absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland and the People, coupled with the dedicated service, professionalism, civilised and polite behaviour, worthy of being a special unit of the Army. At the same time, it improves the quality of training, especially training in security and ritual; supplements and perfects combat plans, strictly maintains regular order, legal compliance, disciplining, regimes and regulations, and combat readiness. Regularly ensure good logistics and technical supply for tasks, especially for conducting training, combat readiness and ritual tasks, thereby generating a combined strength for the Unit to successfully complete assigned tasks.

With the honour of carrying out the special political task of “watching over His sleep” and promoting the tradition of “complete loyalty and filial piety, solidarity and cooperation, self-reliance, proactiveness, creativity”, the officers, employees and soldiers of Command 969 continue to carry out solutions synchronously to build an all-strong, “exemplary and typical” unit, excellently completing the task of managing and protecting the absolute safety of President Ho Chi Minh’s body and promoting the political significance, historical and cultural values ​​of the Relic in the cause of national construction and defence, thereby contributing to fostering patriotism, national pride, revolutionary heroism and the best qualities of the Vietnamese people in line with Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style.
