Company 35 upholds its tradition, proactively fostering innovation, staying firm on the economic - defence front
Remaining steadfast in hardship, maturing through challenges
Under the Party’s strategic policy of strengthening human and material support from the great Northern rear for the great Southern frontline, with the resolve to defeat US imperialists, liberate the South, and reunify the country, on 20 December 1965, Station 35 under Truong Son Command, the predecessor of present-day Company 35, aka One-Member Limited Liability Company 35 under Corps 19, was founded and tasked with transporting goods, weapons, and equipment to various battlefields.

Despite harsh, fierce conditions, cadres and soldiers of Station 35 always upheld unity, courage, and creativity, excellently fulfilling all assigned tasks. After the Paris Accords of 1973, to seize strategic opportunities, the Station was reorganised into Regiment 35 and tasked with ensuring traffic on the strategic transport route of Truong Son. Undertaking its new mission, the Regiment quickly consolidated its organisation, personnel, equipment, and vehicles, opening and repairing hundreds of kilometres of roads and bridges, making great contributions to Great 1975 Spring Victory.
Entering the period of peace, Regiment 35 actively participated in settling the consequences of war and constructing many of the country’s key works. Since December 1994, the Regiment was transferred to Dong Bac Corporation (now Corps 19) under the name Coal Mining Company 35. In April 2007, the Ministry of National Defence decided to merge Coal Mining Company 148 with Coal Mining Company 35 into One-Member Limited Liability Company 35, with the task of managing, protecting, and mining coal in former Cam Pha town, Quang Ninh province for economic - defence tasks. At that time, the mine had low coal reserves, complex geological conditions, difficult natural environments; most of the equipment was outdated military vehicles and machines; mining technology was rudimentary; cadres and soldiers lacked knowledge and experience in coal mining; most of the workers were untrained. However, with willpower and heroic tradition of “Truong Son Soldiers”, the Company addressed difficulties, building a workforce with great professional expertise and skills, step by step mastering mining technology, firmly grasping the mine’s geology, continuously accumulating hands-on experience, modernising equipment, applying scientific and technological advances in coal mining, screening, processing, and marketing, thereby increasing its productivity, ensuring safety, and protecting natural resources and the environment. The material and mental life of its staff members considerably improved.
In the past 60 years of construction, combat, production, and maturity, regardless of any tasks, the Company has always upheld the noble tradition of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers”, affirming the prestige and position of a military enterprise. Notably, between 2020 and 2025, despite numerous difficulties caused by Covid-19 pandemic, thanks to the resolute leadership and direction of party committees and commands at all levels, along with the efforts and resolve of all cadres, party members, employees, and workers, the Company maintained stability and achieved steady developments in production and business.
It can be affirmed that from the flaming battlefield to the competitive market, each stage of the Company’s development has been vivid evidence of the spirit of “remaining steadfast in hardship, maturing through challenges” - a tradition deeply instilled in every generation of “soldier workers”. With its achievements in national liberation, construction, and protection, the Company has been honoured with many noble rewards by the Party and State.

Proactively fostering innovation and staying firm on the economic - defence front
In the period of national renovation, grasping and implementing the Party’s lines and policies on combining economy with defence and vice versa, the Company's Party Committee and Board of Directors have determined that “innovation is an inevitable need, sustainable development is a long-term goal”, considering this a strategic orientation and an urgent requirement. Under that spirit, the Company has carried out all aspects of work in a synchronous, comprehensive manner, settling all shortcomings, effectively handling difficult and unprecedented problems, flexibly, scientifically managing production across every mining site, enhancing governance, strictly saving costs, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety.
In the management process, apart from regularly reviewing and utilising human resources in a streamlined, efficient manner to meet production and business requirements, the Company’s Party Committee and Board of Directors have attached great value to promoting the role of technical and specialist cadres in commanding, managing, and running coal mining, screening, processing, and marketing systems. Various incentive and welfare solutions have been adopted properly; breakthroughs in wage policies have been created to attract and retain highly skilled workers. A healthy cultural work environment has been built; culture has been promoted in leadership, management, and business; the Corps’ Corporate Culture Regulations and Code of Conduct have been maintained to contribute to increasing productivity and income.
Due to the inherent risks of coal mining, the Company’s Party Committee and Board of Directors, as well as party committees and commands of offices and units have paid special attention to seriously organising regular training for all personnel as prescribed, adhering to the principle of “deploying workers to safe areas only”. Mining and production sites have frequently conducted propagation work to raise workers’ awareness and observance of rules and procedures in production, improving their capability in hazard recognition and safety self-management, applying technical solutions for safety assurance, providing sufficient personal protective equipment. Irregular inspections, regular briefings, and safety reviews have been enhanced. Thanks to its synchronous measures, the Company has recorded no serious accidents for many consecutive years, ensuring absolute safety in production, embodying a sense of “discipline and consensus” of Dong Bac soldier workers.

In response to the requirements of development and integration in the new period, the Company has always focused on building a pool of cadres, party members, and workers with political steadfastness, high skills, and dedication to their work. It has promoted scientific and technological application, digital transformation, and production modernisation to increase its productivity, product quality, and competitiveness. Besides, it has stepped up emulation movements, such as “good labour, creative labour”, “promoting technical initiatives and innovations, rationalising production”. As a result, in recent years, despite the volatile energy market and rising input material costs, it has guaranteed growth rates and business efficiency. In 2020, it produced over 467,000 tons of coal, generating nearly 738 billion VND in revenue, contributing 130 billion VND to the state budget, with an average per capita income of over 16 million VND per month. In 2024, it produced over 522,000 tons of coal; its revenue was nearly 1.571 trillion VND; its contribution to the state budget was 174 billion VND; its average per capita income was over 23.6 million VND per month. Financial management has remained safe and healthy; cost management and piece-rate contract have been strictly, effectively maintained. In basic construction investment, the Company has placed emphasis on preventing waste; a typical example was the deep-mining project at Nam Khe Tam, whose total estimate was 520 billion VND, but the Company used only 345 billion VND, saving 175 billion VND.
Apart from production and business development, the Company has also well performed its military and defence tasks. Thoroughly grasping superior directives on training and combat readiness, the Company has strictly maintained duty and combat readiness regimes, regularly updating and refining plans for combat readiness, fire prevention and fighting, and headquarters protection. Its self-defence force has been consolidated with sufficient personnel and high quality; this force has been trained fully under regulations. Annually, the Company works with Regiment 244 under Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command to organise training and live-fire tests with AK rifles and K54 pistols for its staff members, ensuring procedures and absolute safety. It has strictly managed and efficiently used weapons, equipment, and technical means, fostering regularity building, maintaining discipline management, ensuring strict compliance with laws and internal regulations.
The Company has closely coordinated with local party committees, authorities, and armed forces to grasp the situation, flexibly handle incidents, and maintain political security and social order in its stationed area. Social security and mass mobilisation work has been strengthened to build military - civilian unity. Over the past five years, the Company has contributed tens of billions of VND to social activities, constructing 6 houses of affection, 5 houses of comradeship, and 21 charity houses, effectively taking part in movements, such as “the Military joins hands to build new-style rural areas”, “joining hands for the poor - no one will be left behind”, and “all people unite in preventing, combating, and winning against Covid-19”.
Upholding the tradition of “remaining steadfast in hardship, maturing through challenges”, Company 35 will continue adhering to its motto: “effective economic development - robust national defence - happy people”, constantly promoting the virtues of “Truong Son Soldiers”, ensuring efficient production and high combat readiness, worthy of being a military enterprise in the new era.
