The most significant challenge that the Corps faces in training is the inadequacy of facilities and training fields, etc. However, with high determination and synchronous solutions, it has gained positive and comprehensive achievements in this work.

First, it focused on political and ideological education to strengthen spirit and determination of cadres and troops. Grasping that training is the central and regular political task of the Army in peace time, the Party Committee and the High Command of the Corps have ordered its affiliates to brief their cadres and troops about the role and position of training in general and the necessity of training to enhance mobility in particular; paying attention to briefing resolutions and directives of superior levels on training and combat readiness, focusing on the Resolution 765-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on “Enhancing training quality in the period of 2013 – 2020 and beyond”. To achieve remarkable results in training, the Corps commandants have ordered its juniors to apply a number of methods and models of training which are appropriate to each particular unit; combining closely regular training with task-related one. Besides, it also attaches importance to building political stance, self-reliance, and strong will for troops as well as strengthening their confidence in weapons equipment and combat art; developing their sensitiveness and firm psychology to deal with situations under new combat conditions.
Understanding that preparation for training is an importance factor, the Corps has ordered its junior units to focus on making thorough preparations in terms of personnel, organization, facility, planning, and training fields, etc. Annually, prior to each training, the Corps orders its affiliates to review the quality of unit commanders, particularly the commanders at junior-level in order map out a relevant training plan.
During the training stage, the Corps orders its junior units to stick to their plans; conform with contents, program and schedule of training; conduct training in accordance with the guideline of “fundamental, realistic, and steady” with an emphasis on synchronous and intensive training close to the real combat conditions and missions of each unit, focusing on practice and model drills of cadres; increase night training, field training in combination with public work; combine closely combat training with physical training. At unit-level, units proactively renewed method of training and exercise to focus more on practice, night training, live firing, and joint combat exercise. The units also pay attention to improve the quality of instructors, particularly the new ones through the discussion on the lesson plan weekly.
Training to enhance the mobility capability is one subject that the Corps pay particular attention to. Its aim is to developing endurance, mobility capability for troops so that they can quickly adapt to difficulties and hardships of the combat environment, especially conditions in the Central Highland region. Accordingly, right from the stage of basic training, units plan and conduct long range marching; practice crossing all kinds of terrain and river focusing on quick mobility, safety and flexibility of the troops. Regarding the training field as the battleground and to make the training familiar to the real combat conditions, every year, the Corps pays special attention to additional and direct training prior to field training so that cadres and troops can experience the real situations.
In the preparation for combat readiness, the Corps has ordered units to combine combat training with combat readiness. The standing troops are of 95% to 98% of their whole strength. Its units proactively conduct the training of combat readiness and patrolling in order to safeguard all targets of protection; Combining practice on turning to combat condition, mobiling troops and vehicles with the training on commanding from tactical to strategic levels; and assuring enough standing troops, weapons, equipment and combat readiness as required. Its High Command and commanders of junior units are always active in coordinating with other forces of the MND, the Military Zone 5, authorities and armed forces of central highland provinces to timely deal with issues relating to defence and security, participating in natural disasters prevention, search and rescue, etc, contributing to maintaining political security, social safety and order in the region.
Promoting the recorded achievements, cadres and troops of the Military Corps No.3 insist on striving to raise training quality, combat readiness and combat capability, successfully accomplishing all assigned tasks and coordinating closely with party committees, authorities and people in the Central Highland to firmly protect the region.
