However, the NPT remains in force and is the foundation of the international security architecture. For more than 50 years, the NPT has significantly reduced the risk of nuclear proliferation. Therefore, one of the most important tasks in this context is that the five nuclear powers commit themselves not let any conflict between nuclear states happen.
