Thai Son Corporation promotes the mass mobilisation work according to Uncle Ho’s teachings

Mass mobilisation work is one of the main political tasks of economic-defence enterprises. Clearly understanding this and being imbued with Uncle Ho’s teachings, Thai Son Corporation has deployed many creative, practical and effective solutions, contributing to improving people’s material and spiritual life, building and strengthening the firm “people’s hearts and minds posture”.

Thai Son Corporation is an economic-defence enterprise which directly belongs to the Ministry of National Defence. It consists of nearly 20 member units and joint companies. The Corporation operates across the country with many fields, such as: technological application and transfer; building of defence and civil projects; investment and trading in real estates, industrial zones, finance; vocational training, etc. In recent years, despite many difficulties and challenges directly affecting its production and business, the Corporation’s Party Committee and Executive Board have synchronously implemented policies and solutions to improve its business effectiveness, contributing to enhancing the defence potential and socio-economic development. Since 2020, its growth rate has reached 05% - 08%/year; its profits, tax pay and employee average income have reached and exceed the targets. As for 2024 alone, the Corporation gained 3,590 billion dong of turnover, accounting for 122.1% of the plan; submitted to the national budget 84,3 billion dong, reaching 104.3% of the plan; earned the profit of 60.66 billion dong, equaling to 120.3% of the plan, the per capita average salary reached 121.6 billion dong/month, maintaining the position of an A-level enterprise and “Top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam”. This is the stable foundation and premise for the Corporation to promote the mass mobilisation work according to Uncle Ho’s teachings, contributing to completing the functions and tasks of “an army ready for work, an army ready for production” in the new situation; together with the local party committees and governments to improve the people’s material and spiritual life and build the strong areas.

Bearing in mind that the mass mobilisation work is the responsibility of the whole political system, all cadres, party members, staff and personnel, the Corporation’s Party Committee and Executive Board have intensely paid attention to education to create strong changes in the awareness and actions of all-level party committees, party organisations, cadres, party members and employees. Accordingly, the Corporation’s Party Committee and Executive Board have required all-level party committees and commands to continue to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh’s thought i.e. “Mass mobilisation work is very important, bad work causes failure while good one brings success”, guidelines of the Party, policies and law of the State, directives and resolutions of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defence and instructions of the General Political Department, especially Conclusion No. 43-KL/TW, dated 07 January 2019 of the Secretariat on continuing to implement Resolution No. 25-NQ/TW, dated 03 June 2013 by the Party Central Committee (13th tenure) on “Strengthening and renovating the Party’s leadership on the mass mobilisation work in the new situation”, etc. As operating in many fields and locations, the education and improvement of awareness for cadres, staff and employees of the mass mobilisation work, especially for the forces working in building sites and representative offices have been much concerned and implemented by the Corporation with many creative, flexible and suitable forms. The education contents are comprehensive with focused details, especially the issues directly related to the activities of production and trading of each office and unit, the features and situations of each locality. As a result, the mass mobilisation work has been much concerned by all-level party committees and considered as one of KPIs to evaluate the annual task completion of each party organisation, office and unit. Cadres, staff and workers have clearly understood that implementing the mass mobilisation work is not only an important work of all-level leaders and commanders, but also the sentiment and responsibility of each soldier and worker for the people so that they could be ready to go anywhere no matter how difficult and challenging it is to help people and harmonise benefits with the community, contributing to the improvement of the working effectiveness according to Uncle Ho’s teaching, i.e. “We must do our best for the sake of our people, and avoid any acts that are harmful to them”.

One of the most important contents and requirements of the mass mobilisation work is to propagandise and persuade people to comply with the guidelines of the Party, policies and law of the State. Being imbued with Uncle Ho’s teachings, i.e. “It is a must to explain to every person that this is beneficial to them and their tasks, so they should manage to do it”, every year, the Corporation has maintained the discipline and quality of information and situation handling; coordinated with other forces to launch many campaigns of legal propaganda and dissemination with various contents suitable with the local people’s awareness level and intellectual standards, especially in remote, mountainous, border and coastal areas so that they can understand, remember and follow. In the propaganda process, it is necessary to flexibly use a variety of forms; combine with all activities of production, trading and construction in the local areas to conduct the propaganda and mobilisation; attend the programmes held by the areas on the occasion of significant holidays of the Party, country and local areas; support the local areas and take care of families with meritorious services to the revolution and families with difficult conditions, contributing to the development of the areas and the country. It is also necessary to closely combine the special propaganda with detailed activities of the mass mobilisation work. The propaganda contents should be aimed at the high agreement among the people when implementing the guidelines of the Party, policies and law of the State, resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defence on closely combining the economy, culture and society with defence and security, and vice versa, etc. By doing so, the majority of local people have had right awareness and self-consciousness to comply with the guidelines of the Party, policies and law of the State; clearly understood, raised their vigilance and been proactive to struggle against the sabotage plots and tricks of hostile and reactionary forces, bad guys and opportunists; actively taken part in developing the economy, maintaining the political security, social order and safety, and building the strong and safe localities.

Assuring the social welfare, and improving the people’s material and spiritual life are one of the main contents of the mass mobilisation work, which has been seriously and strictly implemented by the Corporation. All offices and units of the Corporation have frequently coordinated with the local party committees, governments, departments and unions to find out about the people’s real demands so that they could build the suitable plans of mass mobilisation and policy work. To achieve the effectiveness, the Corporation has promoted several emulation movements, such as: “The Army joins hands in building new rural areas”, “Military enterprises with integration and development”, “The Army joins hands for the poor – leaving no one behind” combined with the promotion and good implementation of the emulation movement of “Good mass mobilisation”, the construction of “Good mass mobilisation units”; well implemented the work of gratitude, the programme of building “Gratitude houses”, “Love houses”, “Comrade houses”, given a life-long support to 05 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, etc., At the same time, it closely coordinated with the twinned units to deploy activities of visit and encouragement, contributing to the improvement of material and spiritual life for social beneficiaries on the occasions of holidays, Tet, political events of the Party, country and regions; joined the localities to embellish cultural-historical buildings and cemeteries of heroes and martyrs; donated for various funds (such as: day for the poor, study encouragement, for the Agent Orange victims, for the country’s seas and islands – the fatherland’s front line, etc.); effectively conducted the Programme of seas and islands, for the beloved Spratly Islands, and taken part in the movements of social welfare with the total amount of nearly 10 billion dong/year. As for 2024 alone, the Corporation spent over 12 billion dong on policy work and supporting the construction of 18 comrade houses, great solidarity houses and gratitude houses in Hanoi, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ca Mau, Long An, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Phu Yen, Nghe An, Gia Lai and Can Tho; donated 500 million dong to build the 25-3 Kindergarten in the 78 Defence-Economic Unit of 15 Army Corps; supported the 7th Military Region 1 billion dong to implement the “Soldiers’ Spring Programme”, 5.5 billion dong to build President Ho Chi Minh Monuments; donated  for the “Fund for the poor” of the Ministry of National Defence, etc. and together with the 7th Military Region’s Command helped the people seriously affected by the 3rd Yagi typhoon with nearly 1.5 billion dong, together with many other charity activities. It is this contribution that strengthens more the people’s trust in the Party, government and the Army; builds and consolidate the stable “people’s hearts and minds” posture. Together, in the process of doing the social welfare, the Corporation has frequently made encouragement and favourable conditions for offices and units to bring into play their advantages to the task execution. In recent years, the Thai Son Vocational Centre has regularly given priorities of enrolment to beneficiaries, discharged soldiers, children of the wounded or sick soldiers, and also helped them much in training, job promotion, etc. Up to now, many graduated students have been added into the labour sources all around Ho Chi Minh city and in other surrounding provinces. In the areas having buildings which need to be urgently built, all construction units have worked regardless of holidays and rest hours to take full use of machines helping the localities build roads in villages and communes, sports grounds, and clean irrigation trenches, etc. These practical actions have contributed to beautifying the image of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers” in the working, production and economic development fields.

With these achievements, for many years, the Corporation has reached the standards of “Good unit of mass mobilisation”, which has been highly appreciated by the local party committees, governments, departments and unions, and earned the love of the people. In the coming time, the Corporation continues to closely combine between production and business development with the mass mobilisation according to Uncle Ho’s teachings, contributing to building the political and spiritual potential and the stable “people’s hearts and minds” posture, meeting the task requirement of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
