Thoroughly grasping Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo (12th tenure) on promoting the learning and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style, over the years, the Defence Industry College has promoted the implementation of the directive by concrete and practical actions, making an important contribution to its successful accomplishment of the assigned tasks.
The college conducts its education and training tasks amid difficulties in the management and administration when its 02 campuses are located far from each other; its training subjects are diverse, with unequal level; the management mechanisms applied for each type of subjects are different. Meanwhile, its administrator and teacher staff is inadequate; its facilities are not synchronous; employment for its students is affected by difficulties in production and business of factories under the General Department of Defence Industry and the whole army, etc. Being imbued with the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh that: "No matter how difficult it is, we must continue to strive for good teaching and good studying", the Party Committee and Headquarters of the College have synchronously deployed a number measures for leadership and direction, in which, promoting the learning and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style is the most important and central one.

First of all, building cadres, party members and the masses solid political zeal, clean and healthy morality and lifestyle, and high responsibility. The college focuses on promoting the role of the Party committees, party organisations, and command systems at all levels in leading and directing the implementation; step up propaganda, education to raise awareness and responsibility for cadres, party members and the masses. In order to make the studying and following of Uncle Ho be deeply ingrained in thoughts and actions, becoming a regular and voluntary routine of each organisation and individual, the college promotes propaganda and education on His thought, morality, noble lifestyle and personality, and career in rich and diverse forms, such as: studying topics on Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style; propaganda on the occasion of major holidays of the nation, the Army, the General Department and the college; seminars, internal radio broadcasts, writing about good people with good deeds, and role models to post on the college’s website, etc.
Every year, the college directs 100% of its party organisations, mass organisations, cadres, party members and the masses, especially leading cadres at all levels, to stick to the common criteria in the whole college, which is: "Loyalty, Responsibility, Discipline, Solidarity, Creativity, Exemplariness, Determined to win" and other specific criteria to register to strive to follow Uncle Ho with their particular responsibilities and tasks; associated with the commitment to implement the 4th Resolution of the Party Central Committee (12th tenure) on Party building and rectification; regulations of the Politburo, Secretariat, and Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission on the responsibility to be exemplary and the Campaign of promoting tradition, dedicating talents, deserving "Uncle Ho's soldier" in the new period. At the same time, the content of learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style is included in the periodic activities of the party cell, mass organisations to review the implementation results.
Upholding democracy, observing discipline strictly, and building internal unity and military-civilian solidarity. Being engraved with Uncle Ho's words: “… we must pay close attention to democracy and discipline issues. Discipline in democracy, democracy must be exercised with discipline", the Party Committee of the college leads, directs, maintains and strictly implements the Regulation on Grassroots Democracy, focusing on democracy in leadership and command. Bring into play the role of mass organisations and the Military Council; democratically discuss and contribute ideas to develop and supplement the unit's statutes and regulations and discuss measures to carry out the tasks of education, training, regularity building, discipline training, etc., Strictly implement the mechanism of dialogue between officers and soldiers, between superiors and subordinates. Opinions of cadres, party members and the masses are absorbed and studied by Party committees and commanders at all levels to promptly resolve the army's legitimate thoughts and aspirations in accordance with regulations and the college’s authorities. Those practical actions have contributed to building a good democratic atmosphere, a favourable environment to maintain and promote the quality of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new situation. The unit's routines of living, learning and working are maintained and strictly implemented; officers, teachers, students, employees, soldiers always self-consciously obey the Constitution, the laws of the State, the Commandments, charters and disciplines of the Army, directives and orders of their superiors.
Thoroughly grasping and implementing the directives and resolutions of the Party, Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defence on education and training, since the 2017-2018 school year, the college has applied college-level training including 06 programs, and intermediate-level training, including 22 programs. The college has reviewed and adjusted its training program, and streamlined the content in the direction of: "standardisation, modernisation", close to the target and requirements for the development of the defence industry, and military modernisation, the needs of the society and the development of science and technology. The college has actively cooperated with a number of factories and production facilities inside and outside the Army to learn about human resource needs, thereby, building a training program relevant to the needs of employers, prioritising training in specialised technical occupations for defence industry. During the training process, the college gradually builds up a contingent of staff and teachers with an increasing number, reasonable structure, and quality; actively renovates methods and forms of teaching and learning to make it relevant, scientific and effective; applies active and integrated teaching methods and uses advanced teaching aids. Send students to affiliated units for internship, creating a real working environment during their study at the college; applies information technology in examination and evaluation. As a result, over the past 5 years, the training quality of the college has been increasingly improved. 100% of the graduation exams provide satisfactory results, in which over 45% are rated good and excellent. After graduation, students of the college, working in factories and production facilities, are highly assessed by employers as having good political qualities, ethics, high skills, and professional working style.
The effect from studying and following Uncle Ho has directly contributed to the college's successful completion of all assigned tasks. In 05 years (2016 - 2020), the college was awarded 02 Emulation Flags by the General Department of Defence Industry (2019, 2020), 01 "Determined to win" title (2018); For 5 consecutive years, the college’s Party Committee was rated as clean and strong, the college was rated as a comprehensively strong unit, and was awarded the title of a cultural unit, etc. This is an important premise for the Defense Industry College to effectively organise the implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW, dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo (13th tenure) on continuing to implement the Directive No. Politburo No. 05-CT/TW (12th tenure) with specific and practical actions for improving the quality of education and training; building a clean and strong party organisation, the college comprehensively strong and "exemplary and typical", truly be a reliable address in training human resources for the defence industry, making an important contribution to the Military construction, national construction and defence.
