Over the past years, the learning and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style according to Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo (12th tenure) in the Signal Corps have been paid special attention by its Party Committee and Commanders with many synchronous, practical and effective measures and solutions, making significant changes in the awareness and action of officers and soldiers, contributing to building the Corps capable of ensuring good communication for all missions.
The Signal Corps was born since the early days and associated with the glorious history of the Vietnam People's Army. Over 75 years of building, fighting and development, under the leadership and direction of the Party and State, directly the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defence, it has overcome hardships and challenges; promoted initiative and creativity to maintain the safe lines of communication in all situations and successfully accomplish all assigned tasks, contributing greatly to the cause of national liberation, construction and defence. For those achievements, the Corps has been honoured with the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” twice (in 1976 and 2010) by the State; awarded 01 Gold Star Medal, 01 Ho Chi Minh Medal, 02 Independence Medals (First and Third classes), etc., 69 collectives and 37 individuals of the Corps have been honored with the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" and many other noble awards.
The above achievements were attributed to the fact that the Party Committee and the High Command of the Corps have always thoroughly grasped the views and lines of the Party, the policies and laws of the State, and the tasks of the Army to set out sound guidelines and measures to lead and direct the construction of a revolutionary, regular, highly skilled and modern corps; in which, promoting the learning and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style represents an important solution and a routine of its cadres and soldiers.

In 1941, when returned home, Uncle Ho said: “Communication is among the utmost important work of the revolution because it determines the unity of command, the distribution of forces and thus ensures victory". In his letter to signal troops on January 28, 1969, Uncle Ho said: “Try harder and constantly improve political, ideological level and professional skills to ensure timely, accurate, confidential and safe communication, make further progress and score new achievements”. Uncle Ho's teachings were inscribed and identified by the troops as the motto of action in order to maintain the smooth communication in the missions. Implementing his teaching, Party committees and organisations of the corps always strictly grasp the resolutions and directives of the Party, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defence, especially the policy of developing the signal force straight to modernity; proactively research and concretize leadership resolutions, programs, plans, schemes and projects, ensuring compliance with practical requirements and tasks. The units regularly renew the content, form, methods of political education, ideological orientation for their troops; effectively implement the “Project of renewing the political education in the units in the new period”. At the same time, it steps up the emulation, commendation and replication of the role models, creating a spillover effect across the fields of activity. The Corps’ Party Committee has directed it junior Party committees and commanders at all levels to bring into full play the role of the core force in the fight against conspiracies and tricks of “peaceful evolution”, “Military depoliticisation of hostile forces and wrong views, ideas, negative expressions, backwardness, “self-evolution”, “self-transformation” internally. As a result, the cadres and soldiers of the Corps always show absolute confidence in the leadership of the Party, the State and the Army, steadfastness in the goal of national independence and socialism; uphold political responsibility and strive to overcome difficulties and challenges to successfully accomplish their assigned tasks.
In the work of Party building, implementing Uncle Ho's teachings: “A strong Party is due to good cells. Good party cells comprise of good members”, Signal Corps focuses on making its Party Committee pure and strong; improving the comprehensive leadership capacity, the fighting strength of the Party Committees and organizations at all levels; associating the building of pure and strong party organizations with the building of all-strong agencies and units. Strictly comply with the principle of democratic centralism, working regulations, leadership regulations, promoting self-criticism and criticism; strictly complying with the regulations on the responsibility to set the example of cadres and party members, especially leading cadres, commanders and managers at all levels, to maintain solidarity and high unity in the entire Party Committee. Strengthen the inspection, supervision and disciplining of the Party according to the tenure and annual plans; thereby, promptly preventing and repelling manifestations of degradation in political ideology, morality, lifestyle and signs of violation of Party discipline, military discipline, State law of cadres and party members. Synchronously carrying out solutions to build a contingent of cadres in terms of quantity, quality and structure associated with the implementation of the “Strategy for the development of the military communications system for the period 2011 – 2020”. In particular, importance is attached to the verification and appraisal of political standards in the promotion and appointment in accordance with principles, regulations and processes, in order to constantly improve the quality of the staff. The corps always performs well policy work to preserve and attract cadres, especially leading cadres, and cadres working in difficult, remote and isolated areas.
In training, implementing the motto "basic, practical, solid", synchronous and specialized, the Corps actively innovates the content and methods, focusing on mastering new and modern information equipment and gradually develop mobile communication stations to "elite" level. Focus on closely combining segment training with general training, mobile communication training, situational training, field training, and drills. Strictly implement the “Strategy for the development of education and training in the Army for the 2011 – 2020 period” in schools, ensuring strong development in both the size and quality of training; gradually apply the criteria of “Smart school, approaching the Fourth Industrial Revolution”. The Signal College develops and implements training schemes by majors (Army Information, Navy Information, Air Defense - Air Force Information and Cyber-warfare Information); The Signal Technical College builds detailed programs for college-level training, actively innovates teaching methods towards modernization; the content and training programs are closely attached with the development of science and technology, military arts and communication equipment.
In technical assurance, the Corps has actively developed and implemented the Project of “The technical work to modernize the military communications system in the period of 2013 – 2020”; effectively implemented the four objectives of the Campaign “Managing and exploiting weapons, technical equipment, durably, sustainably, safe, economically and traffic safety”, ensuring the synchronicity of information equipment for combat readiness tasks, with special priorities given to strategic-level mobile communications stations and units tasked with protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands, borders, etc. At the same time, actively, proactively research, advice and propose to the Ministry of National Defence the orientation of technical assurance in the conditions of strong development of science and technology, short technological life cycle. To adjust the force organisation and innovate technical methods to suit each stage of the modernisation of the military communication system. To step up the decentralisation to ensure information technology in the entire army, increase the activeness of the unit. As a result, the capacity of the leading technical assurance establishments of the Corps has been improved.
The Corps always attaches great importance to promoting scientific research, promoting technical innovations and improvement, focusing on developing human resources for the industry in the new era; review and develop theories for party work and political work in the conditions of high-tech war. Proactively approach and step by step master new technologies, actively research, improve, design and test materials and spare parts of hi-tech information equipment. The Center for High-Tech Information Technology, the Factory Z755 have researched, designed, and manufactured materials and accessories of information equipment with many breakthrough products, making a major turning point in self-reliance, thereby saving money, time and ensuring good military security.
Implementing the emulation movement of “The Army Logistics Branch follows Uncle Ho's teachings”, the Corps focuses on planning and basic construction, creating a new, formal and modern appearance from the Headquarters of the Corps to agencies and units; actively consolidates, repairs, upgrades, renovates, and builds a bright - green - clean - scenic landscape and environment, meeting daily needs of living, studying and working. In the dispersed areas of operations, its cadres and soldiers have always raised the sense of self-reliance, brought into full play the concentrated husbandry models to ensure clean food source for kitchen. As a result, the troops’ provision has constantly been improved.
The efficiency of practical actions according to Uncle Ho's words has created a premise for the Corps to ensure good communication for leaders of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defence to lead and direct the forces and units in the whole Army to successfully perform their tasks in all situations.
