The 113^th Commando Brigade, established on June 3, 1972, is a combat mobile force of the Ministry of National Defence, being tasked with training, combat readiness and other irregular tasks. Over 50 years of inception, fighting, and development, under the leadership and direct direction of the Party Committee and Command of the Commando Corps, generations of officers and soldiers of the Brigade have always upheld their revolutionary enthusiasm, clever, bravery in combat, and been proactive and creative in their work, scored many glorious feats, contributing to the tradition of the Heroic Commando Corps.

During the resistance war against the US for national salvation, the unit participated in two major campaigns, namely: Ho Chi Minh campaign and Central Highlands campaign with hundreds of battles, destroying thousands of troops and hundreds of tons of bombs and bullets, petrol and other war means of the enemy, contributing to the liberation of the South and reunification of the country. During the war to protect the southwestern border, the northern border and carry out international missions to save Cambodian people from genocide, the brigade successfully completed all assigned tasks. In the time of national renewal, the brigade was formed as a mobile commando unit of the Ministry of National Defence. Though its tasks are heavy, and its training intensity is high, etc., its officers and soldiers always promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-sufficiency to build a comprehensively strong, "exemplary and typical" brigade, successfully completing all assigned tasks. For those exceptional achievements, the Brigade has been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces three times by the State in the years of 1975, 1979, and 2000; 03 Fatherland Protection Orders: Third class in 2011, Second class in 2017, and First class in 2022, 07 Feats of Arm Medals, and many other noble awards.

The above achievements were attributed to the fact that the Party Committee and commander of the Brigade always thoroughly grasp the Party's lines and views, resolutions and directives of their superiors; focus on building a typically clean and strong Brigade Party Committee, truly be the nucleus of leadership in the unit in all conditions and circumstances with practical and effective solutions.

First of all, it focuses on building its Party organisations strong in  politics, ideology, and typical in ethics. The Party Committee of the Brigade always attaches importance to thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing the above resolutions and directives, focusing on: Resolution of the 13^th National Party Congress, Resolution of the 11^th Military Party Congress, Resolution of the Party Congress of the Commando Corps for the 2020-2025 term. At the same time, it accelerates the implementation of the Project "Renovating political education at military units in the new period"; strictly implements the regulations, contents and programs on political education for its troops. Ideological work is regularly carried out by the Brigade in which the contents and methods are proactively renovated to make it persuasive and effective. Its leaders and commanders at all levels, especially at unit level, regularly listen to the thoughts and aspirations of their officers and soldiers; promptly correct the distorted ideas and combat "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" manifestations in their units. Considering ethical standard an important factor, the Party Committee of the Brigade regularly thoroughly grasps and strictly implements the directives and resolutions of the Party Central Committee on Party building and rectification in association with the implementation of Conclusion No. 01- KL/TW, dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo (13^th tenure) on continuing to promote learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style, etc. Thereby, its party committees, party organisations, officers and soldiers have always been steadfast in Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's lines and views, and vigilant against the plots and tricks of hostile forces, contribute to building the Brigade "politically elite", absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People. Currently, the Brigade is promoting a political drive in order to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement Resolution No. 847-NQ/QUTW, dated December 28, 2021 of the Central Military Commission on promoting the quality of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers", resolutely combating individualism in the new situation. It  synchronously carries out solutions to struggle and effectively prevent manifestations of deterioration in morality and lifestyle; promotes the exemplary role of cadres and party members, contributing to building its party committee and organisations pure and strong in politics and ideology, and typical in ethics.

Second, building its Party Committee strong in organisation, maintaining the principles and routines of the Party's activities, improving the quality of cadres and party members. First of all, the Brigade directs its agencies and units to regularly strengthen party committees and organisations at all levels to ensure sufficient structure and good quality. It focuses on fostering and improving qualifications, capacity, methods, working style and practical experience for secretaries and members of party committees at all levels, especially the ability to make and implement resolutions; carries out synchronous measures to grasp and manage the internal political situation; actively fights and prevents the manifestations of deterioration in political ideology, morality, lifestyle, "self-evolution", "self-transformation" internally; strictly implements the principles of democratic centralism, collective leadership and individual responsibility; strictly maintains the party's regimes and routines; upholds the spirit of self-criticism and criticism of cadres and party members, thereby improving the combat strength of the Party Committee. At the same time, it regularly supplements and perfects the working regulations and leadership regulations of the Party Committees at all levels, especially for key working areas.

Fully aware of the pivotal role of cadres in the Brigade’s strong Party organisations and successful accomplishment of all assigned tasks, the Brigade Party Committee strictly implements the principles, resolutions and regulations of the superior levels on personnel work; attaches great importance to grasping the quantity and quality of cadres at all levels, and proactively make proposals on cadre deployment to meet task requirements. Personnel work, i.e. deployment, assignment, promotion, training, etc. is done in a strict and transparent manner. Besides, it regularly improves the awareness, thinking ability, practical capacity, and revolutionary ethics of cadres. As a result, the staff of the Brigade has always acted as the nucleus of solidarity and exemplary in both responsibility, ethical quality, lifestyle, sense of self-disciplining, and capability.

Third, attaching importance to innovating leadership styles, working methods and styles, and building a scientific and effective working style. Deeply grasping the requirements of: "Strongly renewing the leadership style, working method and style of the Party's leading agencies from the central to the grassroots levels", the Brigade’s Party Committee strengthens education for its party committees and commanders at all levels to nurture their correct awareness and good relationships between secretaries and commanders; between the chief and the deputy; between superiors and subordinates; between collectives and individuals; between policy and implementation on the basis of principles of party organisation and activities, in order to maintain solidarity and unity in leadership, command and within the unit. In order to constantly improve the leadership effectiveness of Party committees and organisations at all levels, the Brigade Party Committee focuses on upholding the party principles in Party regimes and activities, ensuring that its leadership is oriented, practical and effective; resolutely counters and strictly handles the bureaucratic, undemocratic, formal, authoritarian manifestations. At the same time, it constantly exercises scientific and principled working style, thereby enabling its cadres and party members complete their tasks quickly and efficiently without passivity or delay.

Fourth, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of inspection and supervision work, and strictly maintaining Party discipline. Implementing the motto that leadership must be associated with inspection, leadership without inspection means no leadership at all, its Party Committee orders its subordinates to strictly adhere to the above regulations, decisions and instructions on inspection and supervision. At the same time, it asks all levels of party committees and organisations to determine the objects of inspection and supervision, focusing on party organisations, agencies, and units with bad performance of work; cadres and party members with bad moral behaviours, violating State law, military discipline; attach importance to inspection and supervision of party organisations and key cadres in working positions that are prone to negative incidents. The content of inspection is focused on the implementation of political tasks, Party building work, shortcomings and limitations in Party building and rectification, the studying and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style. At the same time, it brings into play the role of mass organisations and the Military Council in supervision. As a result, every year 100% of party organisations complete their tasks, in which over 90% of them are rated good and excellent; over 90% of its party members are rated good and excellent in task performance; the Brigade’s party organisation has been rated typically pure and strong for many consecutive years.

The results of building its Party organisations pure and strong in recent years are a valuable lesson and experience for the 113^th Commando Brigade to inherit and promote, contributing to building a comprehensively strong, “exemplary and typical” unit, successfully completing all assigned tasks in the new situation.
