Youths joining the army to protect Homeland sovereignty |
Since the time when the country was drowned in slavery, being awaken and enlightened by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, Vietnamese youths have put their trust in and followed the Party’s leadership. Together with the people, they have made great achievements of historic meaning, namely the victory of the August Revolution in 1945, followed with the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam- the first worker-farmer state in the Southeast Asia, national liberation and homeland safeguarding struggles, as well as the renovation cause. To that end, our Party and people have suffered numerous sacrifice and loses, including millions of youths.
Nowadays, promoting the tradition of the former generations, the vast majority of youths always put their trust in the Party’s leadership; be faithful and steadfast with the aim of national independence and socialism; promote patriotism and be ready to sacrifice for national independence and people’s happiness. Youths now are ambitious, united, enthusiastic with the community and responsible for national interest. They present wherever there is hardship and difficulty, fulfilling any missions assigned by the Party and the people.
Their enthusiasm and responsibility are clearly shown in a variety of movements such as “Vietnamese youths study and follow President Ho Chi Minh”, “Youths for the country’s sea and islands”, “Accompanying young offshore fishermen”, “Stone for the Spratly”, “Vanguard in economic development and national defence”, “Creative youth”, “Youths join hand in building new rural areas”, “Promoting tradition, devoting talent and deserving Uncle Ho’s soldier”, etc.. Thereby, youth’s vanguard role and creativeness are promoted, their trust in the Party’s leadership are consolidated, bringing about concrete and significant results and contributing greatly to the cause of national construction and defence, deserving the love and trust of the Party, State and people.
The above results have been achieved thank to the following reasons:
Firstly, the CPV and President Ho Chi Minh have always paid attention to and had the right view of the important role of the youth to the Party’s revolutionary cause; at the same time, set out various sound policies, guidelines to attract and mobilise youths, educate and train them to be a significant force of the revolutionary cause.
Second, party’s committees and authorities at all levels always put their trust in and encourage, promote youth’s role and potential so that they can fulfil their mission of being a vanguard to arduous regions of the country, contributing to the cause of national liberation, construction and defence.
Third, youth unions at all levels have drawn and launched interesting movements attracting the participation of a large number of youths, being truly a socialist school and a reliable reserve force of the Party.
To promote the vanguard role of youth in the cause of national construction and defence, the following missions need to be well carried out:
First, strengthening education, raising awareness, responsibility of youth to the cause of national construction and defence in the new situation
Second, promoting the vanguard role of youth in developing socio-economy.
Third, paying attention to and promoting youth’s vanguard role and voluntary spirit in safeguarding the fatherland, maintaining political security, social safety and order.
Fourth, promoting and appreciating youth’s vanguard role in working, developing and mastering science – technology, and in production activities, serving for social-economic development, defence, and security.
Fifth, pay attention to building the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union strong; encouraging the self-study and self-training ability of the youth.
