Regiment 19, under Division 968, Military Region 4 is a fully-staffed infantry unit, being tasked with training, combat readiness, and getting ready for natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue in the area of 03 provinces, namely: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue; and executing other ad hoc tasks. On the basis of deeply grasping the above resolutions and directives and basing on the characteristics of the situation, functions and tasks, the Party Committee and commanders of the Regiment have synchronously deployed guidelines and solutions to improve the quality of building a comprehensively strong, "exemplary and typical" unit, and achieved many significant results. Notably, its officers and soldiers always have firm political steadfastness; its training quality and level of combat readiness are increasingly improved; the situation of regularity construction and discipline training has seen many positive changes; logistics and technical supply are focused; internal solidarity and unity are strengthened; all tasks are excellently completed.

To have those results, first of all, the Regiment focuses on building political and ideological strength, and considers this the most important content, deciding the quality of building a comprehensively strong and "exemplary and typical" unit. As it has to perform many tasks with high requirements in the condition that cadres at all levels are usually deployed to different position, natural disasters and epidemics are complicated, the Party Committee and commanders of the Regiment have led and directed its agencies and units to focus on doing well the work of political education, ideological leadership, raising awareness, responsibility, self-reliance, self-resilience, overcoming difficulties to accomplish all tasks for all of its officers and soldiers. The contents of education are comprehensive, focusing on making its troops firmly grasp the characteristics and key tasks; standards, requirements, contents, and measures to build a comprehensively strong, "exemplary and typical" unit in association with building a safe, cultural unit... as a ground for task execution. Effectively implementing the Project of "Innovating political education at the units in the new period"; diversifying educational forms and measures; closely combining basic education with concentrated study and  work; strengthening ideological orientation, building motivation, determination to complete tasks for the troops, focusing on the platoon and squad commanders and new recruits.

Along with that, the Regiment deploys synchronously and comprehensively solutions to overcome limitations and shortcomings, build its Party committees and party cells at all levels strong in politics, ideology, morality, organisation, and personnel associated with the implementation of the 4^th Resolution of the Party Central Committee (12^th tenure) on Party building and rectification; prevents and repels the degradation of ideology, politics, morality, lifestyle, and internal "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" manifestations. Improve the effectiveness of the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW, dated May 15, 2016 of the Politburo on promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style and Directive No. 184-CT/ĐU, March 23, 2017 of the Standing Party Committee of the Military Region on building the "3-good, 3-no" party cells. Step up the implementation of the emulation movement, promptly praise typical advanced groups and individuals with outstanding achievements, creating motivation to motivate officers and soldiers to strive, cultivate, train, and raise their political awareness and responsibility.

In order to create synergy to meet the requirements and tasks, the Regiment focused on improving the quality and level of training, combat readiness, and maneuverability to handle all situations well at all times. Every year, on the basis of thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing Resolution No. 269-NQ/ĐU, dated September 13, 2013 of the MR4’s Party Committee; Resolution No. 601-NQ/ĐU, dated October 8, 2013 of the Division’s Party Committee on "Improving the quality of training for the 2013 – 2020 period and beyond" and combat training orders of the MR4 Commander, directives, plans and instructions of the Division, the Party Committee of the Regiment issued thematic resolutions to lead the performance of training tasks with specific targets, requirements, contents, and measures suitable for the training object, characteristics, and mission of the unit. Every year, the regiment conducts full-time training for subjects according to the approved programs and plans, focusing on night training, field marching, weapon and technical equipment proficiency and the requirements set by practice, such as: search and rescue, disaster relief, prevention and control of incidents, forest fires, epidemics; closely combine between military training with political education; attaches importance to the inspection and evaluation of training results and holds contests, sports festivals and drills close to reality, suitable to situations and combat plans.

In addition, the Regiment strictly maintains the regulation and discipline on combat readiness, duties and watches; regularly reviews, supplements and promptly adjusts the system of documents, plans and combat plans close to requirements, tasks, and practices training as prescribed; actively participates in the prevention, combat and overcoming of consequences of natural disasters, forest fire, rescue and rescue, which has been recognised and appreciated by the MR4, the Division and local Party committees, authorities and people.

In regularity construction and discipline training, the Regiment focuses on mobilising all resources to invest in building and strengthening the "bright, green, clean and scenic" unit. Its campus and accommodation are regularly consolidated and renovated to make the, consistent and regular. The whole Regiment works according to their responsibilities and acts according to regulations; the superiors set examples for the subordinates, agencies set examples for the units, officers set examples for soldiers. Cadres and commanders at all levels thoroughly briefs and raises the soldiers' sense of self-discipline and responsibility in the observance of the Constitution, State laws, discipline, the Army's charter, and regulations of the unit; associates regularity construction, discipline training with building a clean and healthy cultural environment; directs the soldiers to voluntarily abide by the daily and weekly regimes and routines. At the same time, it promotes the effectiveness of Grassroots Democracy Regulations, feedback box, the activities of the "Consulting Team", the model of "One law a week", "Cultural, political and spiritual day"... to help enhancing troop’s acquisition and observation of discipline and law. Resolutely fights, prevents and strictly handles violations of discipline, and regulations on traffic safety, safety in training, etc.

In addition to the above solutions, the Regiment focuses on logistics and technical supply for the tasks. It focuses on directing agencies and units to regularly adjust, supplement, and change the reserved materials and logistical equipment for combat readiness, training, drills, natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue tasks. Its agencies and units fully ensure regimes and standards for officers and soldiers; improves the quality of nourishing and healthcare, focusing on food hygiene and safety, disease prevention and control, especially the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, they well implement the emulation movements of "Military logistics branch follows Uncle Ho's teachings", Good financial management unit, Good nourishing unit; strictly manage and effectively use, prevent loss and waste loss in the use of gasoline, oil, electricity, water, budget, and  property, etc. In addition, the Regiment focuses on thoroughly performing technical assurance for tasks, especially training, combat readiness, search and rescue; ensures timely and synchronised supply of weapons, equipment and technical means for tasks; maintains the order of technical working regime in the unit; regularly fosters and improves the skills and professional capabilities of its technical staff. Actively consolidates and upgrades the technical facilities and fosters the movement on promoting technical initiatives and improvement and well implements the Campaign of "Management and exploitation of weapons and technical equipment in a good, durable, safe, economical manner and traffic safety”.

The above results and experiences are a solid basis the 19^th Regiment to continue to better perform the task of building an all-strong and “exemplary and typical unit” in the coming time, contributing to the successful accomplishment of all assigned tasks.
