As an active and responsible member of the international community, Vietnam has fulfilled all the obligations under the UPR mechanism, said Hoang Chi Trung, head of the Department of International Organisations at the Foreign Ministry. After straightforward and open talks with UN members, during which Vietnam provided full information on its legal, political and human rights situation, the country received 227 recommendations.

The UN is ready to create all possible conditions for Vietnam to organise regular dialogues to discuss the plan to conduct UPR in the country, she said.

Vietnam presented its UPR report at the 18th Session of the UN Human Rights Council UPR working group on February 5 in Geneva, Switzerland .

At the conference, consultative recommendations were collected. They will be used when the Foreign Ministry submits its own report to the government.
