Army units on March 1st held ceremonies to start their new training courses for 2014 and launch the emulation drive to mark the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
This year, Artillery Brigade 45 will pay attention to promoting traditional and law education for troops as well as building strong party committee and comprehensively strong unit, deserving to the noble title, “The Hero of the People’s Armed Forces”.

Attending the unit’s ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defence asked the unit to thoroughly grasp and strictly carry out resolutions on training of the Central Military Commission and Artillery Arm, combine military training with political education, raise training quality as well as train troops to proficiently use weapons and military equipment, meeting the requirement of mission in the new context.
The new training course in the Air Force Regiment 921 of Division 371 of the Air Defence-Air Forces Service will promote the unit’s achievements last year, attaching special importance to remaining high combat readiness, boosting pilots’ quality and ensuring traffic safety.
Adrressing the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huu Duc, Deputy Minister of National Defence praised achievements recorded by the unit’s troops last year, saying that in the time to come, the unit’s troops should consolidate solidarity and promote traditions to fulfil all assigned tasks.
The Deputy Defence Minister asked that unit to thoroughly grasp the resolution on the national protection strategy in the new context, maintain combat readiness, promote training pilots, and timely deal with unexpected problems while ensuring complete safety.
Meanwhile, the Brigade 201 of the Tank-Armoured Arms will continue raising troops’ skills of using and mastering weapons, exploiting new weapons and military equipment, boosting the maintenance and management quality of weapons and military equipment for training and exercises.
Attending the brigade’s ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, praised its achievements in training in 2013, saying that commanders of the brigade’s units should thoroughly grasp the instructions and resolutions of higher levels for higher quality of training and combat readiness in 2014.
The same day, Commando Brigade 198 of the Commando Arm, the Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen and Khanh Hoa provincial military commands, the Navy’s Air Force Brigade 954, the Department of Oil, Tank-Armoured Brigade 273, Military Central Hospital 108, Naval Academy, Military Zone 5, and Regiment 1 of Army Corps 4’s Division 9 launched their new training courses.
