Acting upon the directive of the Central Military Commission, the Central Highlands Front Command resolved to launch an offensive campaign against the enemy in Sa Thay area - Sa Thay Campaign. This was aimed at inflicting attrition upon and annihilating a significant portion of the enemy’s effective strength, particularly US troops, and supporting the masses’ movement to break the enemy’s occupation
