 Wetlands are very important to socio-economic development and environmental conservation due to their multiple functions, including: water purification and storage, processing of carbon and other nutrients, stabilization of shorelines, flood prevention, bio-diversity preservation, wind and tide proofing, and erosion prevention, etc.
